Corporate Social Responsibility

As for corporate social responsibility, Heinz priorities corporate citizenship and sustainability efforts.  The company focuses on high-priority issues in areas where they can make the biggest impact.  For instance, by 2020, the company pledged to achieve each of the following:

- Reduce greenhouse emissions by 15%
- Reduce energy consumption by 15%
- Reduce water consumption by 15%
- Reduce solid waste sent to landfill by 15%

Also, Kraft Heinz Company believes in animal welfare, helping animals from lack of food and water as well as making animals feel comfortable and pain free.  They have partnerships with Rise Against Hunger and Feeding America, providing help to those who need it.  As a result, they have provided over two billion servings of food to those in need.

Back in December of 2017, Kraft Heinz released their first corporate social responsibility report, allowing consumers to know what the company is up to.  In the report, it specifically highlights reformulations to remove artificial flavors in the Kraft Mac and Cheese and Oscar Mayer hot dogs (Pomranz 2017).  Another key aspect of the report are the four key pillars of Kraft Heinz's CSR strategy.  The first one being "Better Products" which promises to meet "the needs and demands of today's consumers by improving the nutritional and wellness profiles of Kraft Heinz products" (Pomranz 2017).  The three remaining pillars involve Better Supply Chain, Better Environment and Better Communities.
